This Privacy Policy describes how TFSA Can ("we," "our," or "the App") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy effectively by ensuring that your financial data remains entirely in your control.

1. No Data Collection

We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal or financial information on our servers.

TFSA Can is designed as an offline-first application. All data you enter into the app—including birth year, contribution amounts, account balances, and institution names—is stored locally on your device in a secure SQLite database.

2. Local Storage

  • Personal Data: Your user profile (e.g., birth year, province of residence) is stored only on your device.
  • Financial Data: Your transaction history and calculated contribution room are stored only on your device.
  • No Cloud Sync: We do not currently offer cloud synchronization. If you uninstall the app or clear your device data, your information will be permanently deletion.

3. No Third-Party Access

Since we do not collect your data, we cannot share it with third parties.

  • No Bank Connections: The App does not connect to your bank accounts or the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You do not enter banking passwords or security questions into this App.
  • No Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics services to track your usage behavior or financial inputs.

4. Your Rights

  • Access: You have full access to all data stored by the App directly through the user interface.
  • Deletion: You can delete all your data at any time by simply uninstalling the App or using the "Reset Data" feature within the Settings menu (if available).

5. Security

Your data is stored within your device's application sandbox. While this provides a layer of security provided by your operating system (iOS or Android), we recommend:

  • Using a secure device passcode, FaceID, or Fingerprint lock on your phone.
  • Not leaving your device unlocked in public areas.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, if the changes are significant, by placing a prominent notice within the App.
